The Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (IDHS-SUPR) is providing training to organizations licensed to provide DUI Evaluation services regarding a new objective test called the Impaired Driving Assessment (IDA). In accordance with 2060.503 f) 4) 1), organizations must administer an objective test as part of the DUI evaluation. The Impaired Driving Assessment estimates the risk for future impaired driving, provides preliminary guidelines for service needs, estimates the level of responsivity to supervision and services and identifies the degree in which traffic safety has been jeopardized among individuals convicted of a DUI/DWI offense. IDA is a differential screening assessment that consists of 45 items across two components. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) support the Impaired Driving Assessment.
